UPDATE 12/01/20

The last few months have been pretty busy. I went to Switzerland a few times for some intense rehab, then went to another rehab center in Barcelona, Spain, for another couple of weeks, to try different techniques. I spent time with my family during each rehab trip. It feels good to have them around me. COVID isn’t making things easy, but I didn’t let it get in my way to do a lot of rehab.

Road 2 Recovery has done an incredible job, thanks to some amazing people donating funds. I would not have been able to do as much rehab work without your financial support.
I’m very thankful for everyone who has supported me from different places around the world. That helps me so much when I’m hitting some “downs”.

I would be lying if I said things were easy. The roller coaster of emotions is sometimes hard, but I am not giving up, and I will do whatever I can to gain anything back possible.
As of right now, I’ve gained all my arms back, and my upper body is actually stronger than before! I got some feeling back in my legs, and I’m still working on getting movement.
I AM NOT GIVING UP!

Hello everyone,

I know I have been quiet the last two weeks but these two weeks have been the toughest of my life. After spending a week in ICU- which I barely remember- and a few days on a regular floor in Tampa, I’m now back in France to start a long rehab process.

I don’t know yet what my future will be but I’m so ready to get to work.

I’ve been able to see so many messages and support you have given me and trust me it feels so good. Thank you to @troyleedesigns team and my team manager for staying by my side and everybody at KTM for their support. Thank you @road2recovery for your amazing help 🙏🏻 — Bonjour à tous,

Je suis resté silencieux les deux dernières semaines depuis ma chute mais ces deux dernières semaines ont été les plus durs de ma vie. Après avoir passé une semaine en soin intensif que je me souviens à peine, puis quelques jours dans un service régulier de l hôpital de Tampa, je suis maintenant de retour en France pour attaquer une très longue rééducation. 

Je ne sais pas encore à quoi ressemblera mon futur mais je suis prêt à travailler dur. 

J’ai vu beaucoup de vos messages de soutient et croyez moi, ça fait vraiment du bien.

Je veux remercier mon team TLD et particulièrement mon team manager TK pour être resté à mon chevet pendant plusieurs jours, et toute l’équipe KTM pour son soutient. Un grand merci à Road to Recovery pour leur aide inestimable. 

J’aimerais tellement remercier @cmmathilde et @marvinmusquin25 pour tout ce qu’ils ont fait pour moi depuis des mois et depuis ma blessure. Des gens formidables avec un cœur énorme.❤️🙏

 

Brian Moreau suffered a major crash on Saturday, February 15 during the Free Practice session at Round 7 of the AMA Supercross Championship in Tampa, Florida.

The Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team athlete underwent surgery on Saturday, February, 15th  to repair a fractured vertebra in his neck and he is in stable condition as he awaits further information from doctors in Tampa. Due to his extended stay in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Brian’s medical bills are expected to be substantial even after his insurance is applied; therefore, the Road to Recovery Foundation has opened a fundraising campaign to assist with Brian’s medical bills. As always, R2R is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) and your donation toward Brian’s fund is tax-deductible. If you are able, please donate to Brian’s page here.

    I have been thinking about you wondering what happened not so much on the day of the accident but how you are doing now and I am very happy to see that you’ve still got some fight in you…whatever brought you to that elite level track that day shows how you are still a gamer no matter the challenge. It’s just a shame that the series had to be put on hold because I think you’d still be watching and cheering on your favorite riders as one of their teammates. A lot of things are gonna seem like they suck right now but be proud to figure things out and overcome adversity one by one and always looking forward to new and fun things. Your journey in the SX industry had just begun and I am glad you didn’t give up on it just yet with support from your familiar team and also a lot of fans you didn’t even realize you earned after only a few laps…what other riders can brag of that?!

    You have the desire for a complete recovery and we pray you get the “tools” needed to pursue this valiant effort. Other people such as Doug Henry and Ken Roczen can be inspirations of someone who battled back from injury. N’abandonne jamais, mon ami :o)

    I have complete faith and belief in you. As a long time young racer (now older than your Dad) and fan of the those who have such amazing talent, I want you to know there are so many people who want you to succeed going forward. This challenge is tough, but my belief is you were chosen to show everyone even the most difficult obstacles can be overcome. I pray you come back to the US, my family would love to visit every opportunity we can. A good friend of mine, wrote the “Adversity Quotient”. It described we have an AQ just like an an IQ. Just reading your comments, you have off the chart AQ. Gives me hope that regardless of the physical outcome, you will inspire change for many, many lives for the BETTER. Confidence is key, keep pushing! We believe in you!!!!

    un peu plus tôt que tu l’avais imaginé, tu es derrière la grille de la course la plus importante de ta vie.
    Ça sera surement aussi la plus longue et la plus dure, mais tu nous a déjà prouvé ton courage et détermination sans faille.
    Lâche rien, une fois que tu l’auras gagné, les autres courses seront facile

    Ne désespère surtout pas, la route sera longue mais tu reviendras tout déchirer aux states.
