On November 10, 2024, 16-year-old National Champion Downhill Mountain Biker, Cash Shaleen, suffered life-altering injuries in a tragic accident at Glamis Sand Dunes. While working on his Can-Am, Cash was struck from behind by another driver who fled the scene, leaving Cash to face severe injuries alone.
The accident resulted in a broken femur and a spinal cord injury, requiring urgent surgery to stabilize his spine from T11 to L2 and repair his femur. Despite these efforts, Cash currently has no feeling or movement from the injury downward. His spinal cord injury is incomplete, leaving his long-term prognosis uncertain.
Cash is now embarking on the toughest challenge of his life—a journey of recovery fueled by hope, determination, and the support of his family and community.
