Chairman / Founder

Bob was the 1994 World 125cc Motocross Champion and the 1985 125cc West Supercross Champion. After retiring from professional racing, Bob managed the FMF professional motocross team.

Bob has worked in the sports marketing industry for the past eighteen years. His work has included working for NBC Sports, The Olympics, PGA and Senior PGA Tour events and numerous sports marketing consulting projects for corporations and special events.

Jimmy Button

Vice-President / Co-Founder

Jimmy was a former professional motocross/supercross rider for Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki prior to an accident in 2000 that forced him to retire. After being in the industry for more than twenty years, Jimmy looked nowhere else but his community to devote his time.

Anita Button

Director of Operations

Anita has been involved in amateur and professional racing for over 30 years having attended nearly every race her son Jimmy was entered in from 1978 until 2000. Anita volunteered for the R2R since its inception, and has now joined the foundation full time since retiring from Qwest Communications, where she worked for 35 years as a Project Manager.

  Chuck comes to us working in the Pharmaceutical industry. Travis Pastrana


Born in Maryland in 1983, Pastrana excelled at mountain biking and school. However, by the age of four, he was already riding a Honda one-speed and found his true calling – motocross. After winning five Loretta Lynn National Amateur crowns, two Canadian titles, and the World Freestyle Championship, all before the age of 14, Pastrana launched himself into fame as a versatile, no holds bar athlete.

Advisory Council

Steve “Chappy” Hudson, Advisory Council: calls Charlotte, North Carolina, home so that’s where you’ll find him when he’s not traveling the country to and from races. Over the last 10 years, he has been Race Chaplain at the Motocross and Supercross Nationals held all across the country.

Davey Coombs


Davey Coombs is the editor and founder of Racer X Illustrated, as well as the President of MX Sports Pro Racing, which organizes the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships. Financial Director

Michael is an Executive Director with Morgan Stanley. He is the co-founder and senior partner of The Pangaea Group of Morgan Stanley in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. For nearly 25 years, Michael has provided customized investment management to high net worth individuals, businesses and foundations.

Max Steffens


Getting his start as a Mechanic on the SX/MX series Max has been in the industry now for over ten years. Working with riders has been the majority of his career. Now the Race Manager at Fly Racing/WPS for a little over 6 years, Max continues to work with riders on a different level. Max’s life is motorcycles and motorcycle racing. He still spends his free time riding bicycles and motorcycles with friends and team athletes. Being a part of the R2R is an honor for Max. He’s able to give back and help injured athletes in our sport get back on track to financial and personal stability.
