Brett Banasiewicz was born in 1994 and currently lives in South Bend, Indiana. Brett turned professional at the age of 13 and excelled in BMX Park and Dirt Jumping diciplines creating signature trick combinations like the “Cash Roll” that no one had ever seen before.

In 2012 and at just 17 years old Brett had reached the pinnacle of his career and won the Ocean City Maryland stop of The Dew Tour. The following weekend hosted a contest in Virginia Beach where he suffered a traumatic head injury that would leave him in a comatose state for over a month.

Through the support of an industry and that of Athlete Recovery Fund (now merged with Road2Recovery) Brett has made an amazing comeback regaining everyday functions and even returning to the bike although not in competition or professionally. Brett is still improving and attends rigorous rehabilitation sessions at home in South Bend, IN and when time and budget permits he will travel to Texas and Utah for specialized focused rehab treatments. Brett credits hyperbaric therapy as a major change in his recovery. His injury has helped to change the rules and awareness of wearing the proper certified helmet for each sport.
