Encinitas, CA – It’s been another epic year of racing and fan experiences for Road 2 Recovery at Monster Energy Supercross. With the help of great partners like Feld, Kawasaki, Yamaha, FC Honda, Suzuki, KTM, JGR, Honda, Rockstar Husky, RCH, Star Racing, and BTO; R2R was able to offer exclusive eBay Fan Experience packages. These packages offered a once in a lifetime view into the day of a top tier AMA Supercross racer. Experiences like this provided an opportunity that few have been able to enjoy. At every race this season, the R2R booth featured valuable raffle items that were donated by generous partners like Soul Beach Cruisers, Axial RC Truck, Rockwell Time, Fly Racing, AP Designs, Alpinestars, and Smooth Industries. These items were a big hit with the fans in the pits and a large part of Road 2 Recovery’s fundraising efforts. Without the invaluable relationships of R2R’s partners, the foundation would have not been able to help the 36 plus injured athletes that have been in need of assistance in the past 17 years.
The Friday before the final race at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Road 2 Recovery held their 17th Annual R2R Monster Energy Golf Classic at the beautiful Stallion Mountain Golf Club. Luckily the weather held and everyone was able to enjoy one of the best tournaments yet. Due to the continued efforts of R2R’s supporters, the foundation has raised over 3 million in total so far. This year’s R2R MEGC raised enough to donate $25,000 to The Asterisks Mobile Medical Unit and over $12,000 to Steve Hudson’s MX/SX Rider Ministry. With new additions and over the top fun activations on almost every hole, next years Golf Classic promises to be off the charts. Make sure you sign up early.
Keeping with tradition, Road 2 Recovery awarded the Main Jet Award at the final riders meeting of the Supercross season. The Asterisk Mobile Medical Team was this year’s recipient. Tom Carson, Dr. John Bodnar, Eddie Casillas, Dr. Paul Reiman, and Dr. Chris Alexander were recognized for their achievements and outstanding contribution to the sport. Without the knowledge and fast acting professionalism of the Asterisk Mobile Medical Unit, several of our favorite athletes wouldn’t be riding with us today.
